As a kid I remember hearing preachers defend the "Young Earth" theory by contending that Adam and Eve could not have resisted the Forbidden Fruit for more than a few days at best.
The error in this assertion is that these preachers put God in the role as The Tempter. God forbidding the First couple from eating of the "Tree" did not, and could not have put temptation in their hearts! God cannot and will not tempt us to sin.
For generations pastors have led their flocks to beleive Adam and Eve could not have stayed in The Garden for more than a few days for fear the theory of evolution might replace the faithfull's trust in Christ.
The fact is; we do not know how long Adam and Eve cared for The Garden before The Tempter actually entered the scene. For all we know, they were there for 3 billion years before the fall.
Is science flawless? No. But, the age of the Earth is pretty well agreed upon. What are your thoughts?
